Half-Time Report: Borussia Dortmund cruising against Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund cruising against Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund have taken a 3-0 lead into the break of their Bundesliga meeting with Augsburg this afternoon.

Matthias Ginter had an early chance to score for the hosts, but he could only direct his header wide of the post.

At the other end of the pitch Philipp Max came close to finding the net for Augsburg when his headed effort was kept out by Roman Burki.

However, within minutes Dortmund took the lead when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived to tap in Ilkay Gundogan's low ball across the box.

A second goal quickly followed for the hosts as Shinji Kagawa tricked his way down the left, before whipping in a low cross that was turned in at the near post by Marco Reus.

Dortmund continued to look a threat every time they came forward and Marwin Hitz had to be alert to palm Gundogan's curling strike over the bar.

They would not be denied a third goal in the 33rd minute as another flowing team move ended with Reus slotting in from close range, after being set up by Kagawa's backheel.
