Jeremie Aliadiere put the visitors ahead three minutes before the half-time interval when he found the target from close range after being teed up by Maxime Barthelme.
Hosts Bordeaux left it until the 87th minute to score their equaliser, Ludovic Obraniak firing home with his left foot from the centre of the Lorient penalty box.
The result leaves Lorient in eighth place in the league standings, while Bordeaux are a point behind in ninth.
