Dougie Freedman keen to follow example set by Leicester City

Freedman eager to follow Leicester model

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has suggested that the club should be looking to follow the Leicester City model to achieve success.

Freedman's side were beaten 1-0 by Leicester on Tuesday night, a result which saw the Foxes clinch the Championship title, and he believes that their policy of signing younger players has been key.

"I'm building a team that is committed and is going to put their bodies on the line for the cause," Freedman told reporters. "You can start to see that in the second half of the season with our points tally.

"Leicester have done it in a way that I would like to copy with young, hungry players.

"They went and bought their players for a significant amount of money; we are going to have to find them a little bit rougher and polish them up."

Bolton are currently 14th in the Championship with two games remaining in their season.
