Half-Time Report: Goalless between Bolton Wanderers, Burton Albion at Macron Stadium

Neither side can force a breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes of the Capital One Cup clash between Bolton Wanderers and Burton Albion at the Macron Stadium.

League One outfit Burton Albion are holding Championship side Bolton Wanderers to a goalless draw at the break in their Capital One Cup clash at the Macron Stadium.

Zach Clough was the first player to register a shot at goal as he weaved his way past two Burton defenders before curling an effort towards the net, but his effort was saved with ease by Remi Matthews.

Clough went close again for the home side when his free kick from 25 yards took a deflection, but the ball sailed narrowly over the crossbar, with Matthews beaten.

The Trotters should have taken the lead when Liam Feeney's free kick from outside the box was parried straight into the path of Gary Madine two yards from goal, but he could only guide his header on to the crossbar.

Madine went close again just before the break when he latched on to another Feeney set piece, but his header went wide of the post.
