David Ferguson ecstatic after late equaliser earns Blackpool point

Blackpool defender David Ferguson reflects on the "unbelievable" moment that he equalised in the 97th minute of their 4-4 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Blackpool's David Ferguson has described his 97th-minute equaliser against Nottingham Forest as "unbelievable".

The defender headed home Jamie O'Hara's corner to make the score 4-4 and cancel out Chris Burke's strike only minute earlier, which looked poised to hand Forest three dramatic Championship points.

Ferguson told the club's official website: "Welcome to the Football League, it's unbelievable. I was going to go back for the corner, but I thought last minute and the way the game was, I'd stay up.

"I was back stick and I remember Danny Collins saying 'my man's ran off', so I thought there was nobody around me to make that front run. I didn't break my stride, the ball was perfect. I didn't know what to do with my hands, I just thought I'd run to Jamie [O'Hara]."

Despite the result, Blackpool remain rooted to the bottom of the table, 10 points adrift of safety.
