Yakubu believes that Blackburn need to stay strong in their fight against the drop and claims that they can beat any side in the Premier League.

Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu has insisted that the club can still avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Nigerian international claims that Rovers are capable of beating any team on their day, which gives them a fighting chance of survival.

"We still have chances to stay up. All my career, sometimes it's up and down. You have to be really strong in your head, you have to stand like a man," he told The Observer.

"We keep fighting. Spurs, Wigan, Chelsea - it's not going to be easy. But, as with Manchester Unitedand Wigan, we can beat any team."

Steve Kean's side currently sit 19th in the table, three points off safety ahead of their clash with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
