Yakubu admits to mixed emotions

Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu has said that he has had mixed emotions since his side were relegated this season.

Yakubu, who led his side with a career-best 17 Premier League goals, admits that he is still disappointed that he and his teammates couldn't avoid the drop after a difficult season at Ewood Park.

"I had a great season but I am disappointed," he told the club's official website.

"It is sad that the club has gone down. We all worked hard together, we are all friends. We have to bounce back to the Premier League."

The Nigerian finished as the fourth-highest goalscorer in the league.
