Blackburn deny new deal for Kean

Blackburn Rovers have refuted suggestions that Steve Kean has put pen to paper on a new contract.

Reports emerged this week claiming that the Scottish boss had signed a new deal with the Premier League club.

"There is no new contract signed yet," a Venky's spokesman told the Lancashire Telegraph.

The 44-year-old has had a difficult relationship with the Blackburn supporters, many of whom have staged protests in a bid to push Kean out of the club.

Rovers currently sit in the relegation zone of the Premier League table, taking six from a possible 33 points.
