Demarai Gray signs new Birmingham City contract

Sought-after teenager Demarai Gray signs a new three-year contract with Birmingham City.

Birmingham City have announced that sought-after teenager Demarai Gray has signed a new three-year contract.

The 19-year-old's previous deal was due to expire next summer, but he has now committed for a further two years until the summer of 2018.

Speaking to the club website about Gray's new deal, Blues boss Gary Rowett said: "He knows what he wants to do.

"He knows that one day he wants to play in the Premier League and I think he knows that if he keeps working hard on his game and keeps improving, keeps listening to people, then he can do that."

After making the odd appearance in 2013-14, Gray became a regular for the Blues last season, scoring six league goals in 41 Championship appearances.

Bournemouth pursued Gray heavily in the January transfer window earlier this year and reportedly made a fresh bid for the winger last month.
