Birmingham City forward Akwasi Asante rejoins Shrewsbury Town on an initial one-month loan deal.

Birmingham City forward Akwasi Asante has rejoined Shrewsbury Town on an initial one-month loan.

The 20-year-old played seven games for the League One side last season, scoring one goal in the process.

He made the first appearance of his second spell at the Greenhous Meadow earlier today as a substitute in the Shropshire side's 3-0 friendly defeat to Galatasaray.

Asante's only first-team appearance for Birmingham to date came during the Blues' 3-0 win over Nacional in the Europa League in August 2011.
