Birmingham striker Marlon King believes that his side are the team that no-one wants to face in this year's Championship playoffs.

Birmingham City striker Marlon King has claimed that his side are the team no-one wants to play in the Championship playoffs this year.

The Blues are currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak and, after finishing fourth in the Championship this season, will face Blackpool in the first leg of their semi-final tomorrow.

King believes that Birmingham are the form team and that, if they didn't compete in the Europa League this season, could have achieved automatic promotion.

"My feeling is, being brutally honest, if we didn't have Europe and the other cup games I think we would have finished automatic [in the top two]. If we considered [missing out on automatic qualification] a disappointment then I don't think we'd be at this stage discussing playoffs," said the striker.

"If we dwelled on 'what could have been' then I don't think we would have been able to have got to this stage of finishing fourth - strongly. We haven't lost in our last nine games, five draws and four wins is very, very strong by anybody's record.

"And I don't think anybody in the playoffs would want to play us. I don't think the pressure is on Birmingham City, I think it's on other teams."

West Ham United beat Cardiff City 2-0 in the first leg of the other playoff semi-final earlier this evening.
