Half-Time Report: Birmingham City, Brighton level at the interval

Birmingham City and Brighton & Hove Albion remain level at half time.

Birmingham City and Brighton remain level at half time despite chances for both sides to take the lead.

The Blues had the game's first chance in the opening stages when Wade Elliott laid off a free kick from the left for Scott Allan, but the West Bromwich Albion loanee saw his shot well saved by Tomas Kuszczak at the keeper's near post.

Brighton soon gathered their heads and were in with a chance a few minutes later as Will Buckley let fly from just inside the Birmingham box, only to see his effort held by Darren Randolph.

Buckley was back in the mix of things again and his cross from the left found the head of Leo Ulloa from six yards, but again Randolph got down low to make a fine save to keep the scores level.

Brighton should have gone one ahead minutes later when Ulloa beat the offside trap but he finished poorly, the ball going wide of Randolph's goal.

Birmingham could have gone into the break with a 1-0 lead after Lee Novak played in Andrew Shinnie down the left, but his low shot was saved by Kuszczak.
