Belgium fire six past Andorra

Belgium have started their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a 6-0 thrashing of Andorra. As expected, Belgium took control from the game from the first whistle, but it was a frustrating start as Divock Origi twice missed the target from great positions inside the box.

However, they would finally be rewarded for their pressure in the 31st minute when Kevin De Bruyne powered home from the penalty spot after Josep Ayala brought down Origi in the box.

De Bruyne scored his second just three minutes later with an emphatic finish after breaking free of the helpless Andorra defence.

Belgium's Tottenham Hotspur duo combined to make it 3-0 before the break when Jan Vertonghen's chipped pass into the box was followed by Nacer Chadli's powerful strike into the roof of the net.

It continued to be one-way traffic after the interval as Origi ended his own frustration by latching onto De Bruyne's pass before slotting home.

Dries Mertens then joined the fun with a three-minute brace as he headed a De Bruyne cross in from close range, before scoring his side's sixth with an unstoppable strike from the edge of the box.

Andorra battled admirably in the closing stages to prevent the hosts from adding more goals as Belgium started their qualification bid with the most comfortable of victories.
