Xherdan Shaqiri "not thinking about leaving" Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri plays down recent quotes attributed to his brother that he is looking to leave the German club.

Xherdan Shaqiri has insisted that he has not considered leaving Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old's brother and agent recently claimed that the Swiss international would consider the offer of regular football elsewhere during the summer.

However, although Shaqiri has admitted that he would listen to any propositions, the midfielder has stressed that he is "not thinking about leaving" the German and European champions.

"I have never said I am unhappy being at Bayern Munich. I never said I want to move on. I like it very much and I am not thinking about leaving," he told SPORT1. "Of course, if there is a top quality club coming in, you will have to look and see. But that is what every player does then.

"My brother's opinion was written a bit differently to what he actually said. Of course, if a top club comes in, then you've got to consider it - every player is like that."

Shaqiri has made 19 appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season.
