David Flitcroft: 'We won't replace Peter Ramage'

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft reveals that he is not intending to sign a replacement for the injured Peter Ramage.

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has revealed that he has no plans to enter the loan market to replace Peter Ramage.

The on-loan Crystal Palace defender has been ruled out for six weeks with a thigh injury, but Flitcroft has insisted that he will place faith in one of his current squad to replace the former Newcastle United man.

The 39-year-old told the Barnsley Chronicle: "He will be injured for four to six weeks and then it will probably take another two weeks to get him back to where he needs to be to be playing first team games so we could be without him for eight weeks.

"In the last few weeks, he and Martin Cranie had been forming a good partnership so it is a really disappointing one for us. But I am not looking for a new centre-back. I will go with what I have got."

Ramage has made five appearances for the Oakwell outfit.
