Report: Barcelona finalising deal for Brazilian defender Vitao

Barcelona are reportedly in advanced talks with the representatives of Vitao and are confident of completing a deal for the Palmeiras defender.

The Brazil Under-20s international is said to have been scouted by the La Liga champions and is seen as one for the future.

Marca reports that both Vitao and his agent are in Catalonia to put the finishing touches to a deal that will see the 19-year-old link up with Barca in the summer.

Given his age, however, it is claimed that Ernesto Valverde does not have any immediate plans for the Palmeiras ace and he could spend time with the B team or possibly loaned out for a season.

Vitao is a centre-back by trade but can also operate in defensive midfield.
