Report: Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign Paulo Dybala should Neymar leave

Lionel Messi is reportedly eager for Barcelona to make a move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala - Messi's Argentina teammate - should Neymar leave Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi has reportedly urged Barcelona to make a move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala should Neymar leave Camp Nou.

The Brazil attacker is rumoured to be nearing a switch to Paris Saint-Germain, who are allegedly willing to pay his €222m (£195.2m) release clause.

Dybala, meanwhile, has been a revelation since joining Juve from Palermo in 2015, scoring 42 goals and registering 18 assists in 94 appearances in all competitions.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Messi has told directors at Barca that, should Neymar leave, his Argentina teammate would be more than capable of taking the 25-year-old's place.

Neymar, who scored 20 goals in 45 appearances last season, still has four years remaining on his contract, while Dybala is tied to Juve until 2022.
