Barcelona told to pay €70m for Willian Jose

Barcelona have been told that they will need to fork out €70m (£58.7m) if they want to secure the services of striker Willian Jose from Real Sociedad.

Quique Setien's side are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, having recently lost Ousmane Dembele to a six-month layoff with Luis Suarez also out injured.

With clubs in Spain allowed to bring in emergency replacements outside the transfer window, 28-year-old Jose has been strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou.

However, in a recent press conference, Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil remained firm on the striker's release clause: "If they put the €70m on the table then fine, there's nothing left to say.

"The whole thing about Willian Jose is starting to get a bit much. He's our player and he wants to continue to be our player. I don't know how long for but as far as I understand it he'll be with us until the end of the season."

Jose was also linked with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur during the January window, however a move failed to materialise.

The Brazilian has scored eight goals in 22 La Liga appearances this season as La Real sit sixth in the table.
