Barcelona reportedly deny that they are willing to reduce the buyout clause in Atletico Madrid's loan deal for Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona are reportedly not willing to reduce Atletico Madrid's buyout clause for Antoine Griezmann.

The two clubs are currently in disagreement as to whether Atletico are obliged to pay the €40m (£35m) buy option on Griezmann's loan deal.

Diego Simeone's side are required to complete the permanent transfer of Griezmann - who is in the second season of a two-year loan spell - if the player plays over 50% of his available minutes.

Atletico believe this applies over the whole course of the loan period, while Barcelona are insisting that Griezmann triggered the purchase option by featuring in over 80% of his available game time last season.

Despite a recent report suggesting that the two sides were negotiating a lower fee, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo insisted that they have not met Barcelona to discuss the issue.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona have also rejected the notion that they are prepared to lower the buyout clause in Griezmann's loan deal.

The Catalan giants are believed to be willing to take legal action over the matter as they maintain that the Colchoneros already owe them a payment of €40m (£35m).

Meanwhile, Atletico are currently managing the minutes of Griezmann, who has only been featuring after the 60th minute of games this season.
