FC Seoul 3-7 Barcelona: Highlights, man of the match, stats as Lamine Yamal stars in pre-season rout for La Liga champions

Outstanding Lamine: Yamal stars as Barca hit FC Seoul for seven in pre-season rout

Barcelona continued their preparations for the 2025-26 campaign with a 7-3 victory over South Korean outfit FC Seoul on Thursday, with Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres both netting braces for the Catalan giants.

FC Seoul gave their supporters three goals to cheer, with Cho Young-wook, Yazan Al-Arab and Jung Han-min all on the scoresheet, but Yamal and Torres both hit braces for the La Liga champions, while Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen and Gavi also registered.

There was another Barcelona appearance for Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, with the on-loan Manchester United attacker playing the whole second half of the pre-season fixture.

SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT

Well, this was not a dull pre-season friendly.

The gulf between the two teams was on full display, with Barcelona, as expected, far superior in terms of their quality, and the Catalan outfit are again going to score plenty of goals next season.

Indeed, with Rashford and Torres among those supplementing first-choice front three Lewandowski, Yamal and Raphinha, it is going to be incredibly difficult to stop the Catalan side on a game-to-game basis.

However, it was not all good news for Hansi Flick's side, as their defensive issues were on display, and the team's high line could end up costing them in the biggest of matches next season.

It would have been a shock had Barcelona not managed to secure the victory on Thursday, but Flick will know that he has work to do when it comes to the defence, as it could cost them next season, which was the case when the team were searching for glory in the Champions League in 2024-25.

MAN OF THE MATCH - LAMINE YAMAL

Yamal was sensational against FC Seoul, with the Spain international brilliant in the first period before his withdrawal at the break; the youngster was heavily involved in Barcelona's first and then went on to score twice himself.

The attacker was brilliant last term, and it will again be very difficult for opposition defences to stop him next season, with the 18-year-old well on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world.
