Andres Iniesta has revealed that he is "grateful" for the support he has received during a difficult period in the Barcelona midfielder's personal life.
The Spaniard's wife Anna suffered a miscarriage earlier this month, but Iniesta has claimed that "affection" has allowed the couple to overcome the tragedy.
"When you're having a hard time, feeling really down, you then realise all the affection that you get from people you don't even know, and this gives you the strength to carry on," he told Cadena Ser.
"My wife, my family, we are all grateful for the affection we have received.
"Yes, I have received messages of support from the Real Madrid players; some things are more important than a football match."
Iniesta scored in Barcelona's 7-0 win over Osasuna at the weekend.
