Leganes too strong for Barcelona B

Leganes scored a goal in each half to pick up a 2-0 win over Barcelona B in Spain's Segunda Division this afternoon.

After a quiet start to the match, it was the home side who opened the scoring when Fernando Velasco fired the ball into the back of the net with a powerful shot from close range.

Francisco Moreno could have doubled their lead before the break when he burst into the box, but his shot flew well high of the crossbar.

Adrian Ortola came under pressure just before half time when Alain Eizmendi forced a save, before the winger fired the rebound against the woodwork.

Leganes doubled their lead early in the second half when Moreno force a parry from the visiting keeper, only for Javier Eraso to pounce on the rebound.

Patri had a chance to get a goal back for Barcelona late on, but he hurried his shot, failing to test Jon Ander Serantes.
