Report: Atletico Madrid submit Carlos Vela bid

Atletico Madrid have reportedly made an offer in the region of £8m for Real Sociedad's Carlos Vela.

The Mexican, who joined Sociedad from Arsenal in 2011, scored 16 times in 37 league games last season.

The 25-year-old's form over the last couple of seasons has reportedly attracted the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, according to Marca, Atletico have made their interest official, with the Spanish champions confident of completing a deal for the attacker.

Vela has also been linked with a return to former club Arsenal, who have a buy-back clause.
