Report: Atletico Madrid, Barcelona chase Mauro Icardi

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are both reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi this summer.

The 21-year-old, who represented Barcelona as a youth from 2008 to 2011 before leaving for Sampdoria, scored eight times for Inter last season.

According to Mediaset, Atletico are in the process of submitting an official offer for the Argentine, but Barcelona are also interested in re-signing the talented youngster.

Icardi has one senior international cap to his name, but did not make the Argentina squad for this summer's World Cup.
