Atletico Madrid deny Adrian sale

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has insisted that Spanish striker Adrian will not leave the club this summer.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of European clubs after an impressive season in Spain, but Simeone has quelled suggestions of a move.

"The arrival of new players will make us more competitive, so there is internal competition. The major players need to stay," he told reporters.

Adrian scored seven goals for Atletico last season.
