Player Ratings: Atletico Madrid 3-1 Levante

Sports Mole analyses how each individual player performed during Atletico Madrid's 3-1 win over Levante in La Liga.

Antoine Griezmann scored twice as Atletico Madrid recorded a 3-1 win over Levante in La Liga on Saturday.

Griezmann netted a goal in each half to leave the home side 2-0 ahead, but Nabil El Zhar had one back for Levante just past the hour.

Atletico made sure of the points late on, however, when Diego Godin headed a Tiago cross into the back of the net.

Here, Sports Mole analyses how each individual player performed during the Spanish affair.

ATLETICO

Goal

Miguel Moya: Did not have an awful lot to do in terms of saves, but the Spaniard was strong from crosses and calm in possession of the ball. (6/10)

Defence

Juanfran: Caused all sorts of problems with his attacking runs in the first period, but the right-back's delivery was a little unpredictable. Strong defensively once again. (7/10)

Diego Godin: Another towering performance from the centre-back, who marshalled his back four. Also got his name on the scoresheet late on with a powerful header. (8/10)

Jose Gimenez: Rise to the first team seems to have forced Miranda out of the club. Just 19, but the centre-back already looks to have absolutely everything to thrive at this level. (7/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: A really good afternoon for the Brazilian, who set up Griezmann's first with a brilliant cross. Levante just could not deal with his presence in the final third. (8/10)

Midfield

Gabi: Not as involved as a number of his teammates, but kept things ticking over nicely in the middle of the park. Remains a vital cog in the Atletico machine. (6/10)

Tiago: Seems to be getting better with age. Controlled the middle of the park and set up Godin for Atletico's third with a brilliant cross. (7/10)

Koke: Like Gabi, had a decent match, but without really pulling up too many trees. Set-piece delivery was a little hit-and-miss in the second period. (6/10)

Attack

Antoine Griezmann: Two goals for the Frenchman made it five strikes in his last two league matches. Showed good reactions to respond quickest for his second of the match. (8/10)

Mario Mandzukic: Had a goal chalked off for handball in the first period, but remained a constant threat. Did not score, but certainly opened space for others in the final third. (7/10)

Arda Turan: Showed some nice touches in the final third, but was not at his buccaneering best in the Spanish capital. Departed for Raul Garcia after 66 minutes. (6/10)

Substitutes

Raul Garcia: Had a wonderful chance to score a fourth for Atletico late on, but the midfielder's touch let him down after bursting unmarked into the penalty area. (6/10)

Raul Jimenez: Replaced Mandzukic after 79 minutes and provided a good target in attack. (6/10)

Saul Niguez: Only given the final five minutes and hardly touched the ball. (5/10)

LEVANTE

Goal

Diego Marino: Made some decent saves in the first period, but must take some of the blame for Atletico's third after getting nowhere near the floated cross from Tiago. (5/10)

Defence

Ivan Lopez: Made some smart challenges in the first period and put some dangerous crosses into the Atletico box during Levante's strong spell after their goal. (7/10)

Loukas Vyntra: Found Mandzukic difficult to contain when the ball was in the air. Made some good challenges, but has given better performances this season. (6/10)

Nikos Karabelas: Was the player sacrificed after 73 minutes when Levante looked for a bigger threat in the final third. Up until that point, had a decent enough match. (6/10)

Juanfran: Showed his age with a couple of rash challenges in the first period. That said, his experience came in handy when dealing with a number of situations. (6/10)

Midfield

Andreas Ivanschitz: Struggled to influence proceedings in the first period, but grew into the match. Can be pretty pleased with his display on a personal level. (7/10)

Pape Diop: Was prepared to put his foot in when needed, but the 28-year-old was a little untidy in possession of the ball. (6/10)

Mohamed Sissoko: Was perhaps a shade fortunate to remain on the field following a number of late challenges. A typically feisty performance from the midfielder. (5/10)

Jose Morales: Was tasked with providing support to the lone striker Rafael Martins, but the attacker found it difficult to break through the Atletico defence. (6/10)

Victor Casadesus: Another that grew into the second period when Levante found a route into the match, but the Spaniard needed a little more from those around him. (6/10)

Attack

Rafael Martins: Full of running in the early stages and fired a powerful effort just wide of the post. However, the Brazilian faded after the break and was withdrawn on the hour mark. (6/10)

Substitutes

Nabil El Zhar: Scored with pretty much his first touch as he angled one into the bottom corner. Looked dangerous each time he was fed possession in wide areas. (7/10)

David Barral: Should have had a penalty late on following a rash challenge from Gimenez, but the referee waved play on. (6/10)
