Arda Turan: 'We must beat Villarreal'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan refuses to play down the importance of Sunday's La Liga clash against Villarreal.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has called Sunday's La Liga clash against Villarreal "a final".

The capital outfit currently sit seven points behind league leaders Real Madrid, who won at Almeria on Friday, meaning that Diego Simeone's side can ill afford any slips at this stage of the season.

"The match against Villarreal is a final. We want to give happiness to our fans, and we're very focused on securing the win," Turan told reporters at a press conference.

"We feel very good when we play at home, we're very powerful. If we want to be one of the league's greats, we must continue like this."

Villarreal will enter the match off the back of three successive league wins.
