Koke: 'Atletico Madrid ready for final weeks'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke insists that securing third spot in La Liga is important to the Spanish champions.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has insisted that his side are fully focused on securing third in La Liga.

Atletico won their first Spanish title since the 1995-96 season last term, but have been unable to match Barcelona and Real Madrid this time around.

Koke, however, has said that the capital side are keen to secure third, which they currently occupy, four points ahead of Valencia with three games remaining.

"We have three games left and the first final against Levante on Sunday," Koke told AS.

"Real Madrid play Valencia and we'll be watching, but in the end we depend on ourselves and, if we win the three games we have left, we'll be third.

"Physically we're fine. It's almost the end of the season and there are times when the legs are heavy. But we're fine. We're eager."

Atletico are currently on a 12-game unbeaten run in the league.
