Atletico Madrid captain Gabi thanks the club's supporters for their backing throughout 2013.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has thanked the club's fans for their support throughout a successful 2013.

The capital outfit currently sit level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga, while they were triumphant in the Copa del Rey last season.

"We promise to keep working hard so next year will be even better than this one," said Gabi, who addressed the crowd at an open training session earlier this week.

"For another season we want to thank you for your behaviour throughout the year. Any player of Atletico Madrid is delighted to have you. Every day you show that we are a big team.

"We hope that 2014 comes packed with success. We will continue working to make next year even better than this."

Atletico face Malaga at the weekend.
