Radamel Falcao has expressed his "pride" at being nominated for the Ballon d'Or.
The Atletico Madrid striker was shortlisted for the prestigious award after carving out a reputation as one of the finest marksmen in European football.
"I feel both happiness and pride," the Colombian told Goal.com.
"The nomination reflects all the hard work I have done over the years. To help Atletico play an important role [in European football] and their good results have improved my popularity and made me more recognisable.
"Thank God the team's hard work has led me to a nomination."
The winner of the award will be announced in January.
