Dr Tony Xia rubbishes Aston Villa link with Chelsea legend

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has rubbished claims that the West Midlands club are looking to sign Didier Drogba.

On Monday afternoon, reports began to emerge that the Chelsea legend was in discussions with the Championship outfit but after being asked about the speculation on social media, Xia laughed off suggestions of a shock move.

Drogba - who currently represents MLS side Montreal Impact - previously played under Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo during the 2011-12 campaign as Chelsea won the Champions League.
