Vlaar 'not disappointed' with Villa stay

Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar has admitted that he is not "disappointed" about failing to secure a summer move.

The 29-year-old was linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal during the window following his impressive performances for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

However, the Dutchman, who signed for the Premier League outfit from Feyenoord back in 2012, has remains at Villa Park.

"I don't feel disappointed", Vlaar told Helden Online. "I have always maintained that I am enjoying myself at Villa and that is still true. I just want to keep giving my best here."

Villa currently sit second in the league table, two points behind leaders Chelsea after four games.
