Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has confirmed that a number of his players have been contacted about playing for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics.
Team GB have recently contacted a large number of players to gain an idea of a preliminary squad for August's games.
McLeish said: "I think there have been a few players contacted, something like ten. I've left [club secretary] Sharon Barnhurst to deal with our players and liaise with them about what they want to do.
"The Olympics is very novel for us in this country. If you grow up in somewhere like Australia it's a family's ambition for their kids to represent Australia at the Olympics."
Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce will coach the team at the Olympics.
