Monaco bring in Fabinho on loan

Ligue 1 newcomers Monaco sign Brazilian right-back Fabinho on a season-long loan deal from Rio Ave.

Ligue 1 side Monaco have signed Brazilian right-back Fabinho on a season-long loan from Rio Ave.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Real Madrid's B team, making one appearance for the first team and 30 for Castilla.

A club statement read: "AS Monaco FC is pleased to announce the arrival in the professional team of Fabio Henrique Tavares, also known as Fabinho, a Brazilian right-back of 19 years who has had spells with Fluminense and Real Madrid.

"Fabinho is loaned for one season by the Portuguese club Rio Ave."

The player has been handed the number two shirt.
