Arsene Wenger aims to "improve" Arsenal squad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he will try to "improve" the team in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he has begun looking at potential summer transfer targets.

The Gunners clinched a big-name arrival last summer in the form of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, but the club were criticised for failing to sign a striker in January.

While Wenger is yet to commit his own future to the Emirates, the Frenchman has suggested that improvements to the squad will be made.

"When results are not going well, you can always think you can improve," Wenger said in Thursday's press conference. "There is no perfect team and we will always try to improve our squad and our team.

"This season we lost key players at big important moments of the season, but we have to just to focus on finishing as well as we can."

The Gunners will take on Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
