Jackson Martinez open to transfer to Arsenal

Porto forward Jackson Martinez admits that he would be interested in a move to Arsenal this summer.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez has revealed that he would be open to joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Martinez has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent months, and his performances for Colombia at the World Cup has seen further reports surface about possible interest from the Gunners.

Signing a striker to increase competition for places in attack is believed to be a priority for Arsene Wenger, but the 27-year-old has dismissed suggestions that an agreement is in place between the two clubs.

"I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements," Martinez told reporters. "My agent is taking care of my future, right now I'm at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I'll evaluate proposals.

"As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes."

Wenger is also expected to add Joel Campbell, who was on loan at Olympiacos last season, to his first-team squad for the new campaign.
