Atletico Madrid have offered Arsenal the chance to sign French winger Thomas Lemar this summer, according to a report.

The 26-year-old made the £62m move to Atletico from Monaco back in 2018, but has largely failed to live up to expectations with Diego Simeone's side so far.

Despite being regularly used in a more central role in the Spanish capital last season, Lemar was still restricted to just 17 league starts in his 24 appearances, during which he scored four goals and registered five assists.

With the France international entering the final 12 months of his contract this summer, L'Equipe have reported that Atletico have offered Lemar out to both Arsenal and Everton in order to revive their attempts in receiving a fee for their inconsistent star.

However, the report also suggests that following no interest from the Premier League duo, Lemar has agreed to a significant pay cut in order to extend his stay at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The pay decrease has reflected his struggles during his four-year stay so far, whilst the contract will tie him down until the summer of 2027 once it is signed.

Arsenal had previously turned down the chance to sign Lemar several years ago, before Atletico swooped in to sign him following an excellent campaign with Monaco in 2017-18, but it had been suggested that the Gunners could revive their interest after missing out on Leeds United winger Raphinha, who recently signed for Barcelona instead.
