Arsenal 'offer Jack Wilshere less money in new contract'

Arsenal 'offer Wilshere less money'

Arsenal have reportedly offered Jack Wilshere a new contract, but his wages have taken a hit.

The midfielder comes to the end of his current deal in the summer, but he has made it publicly clear that he wants to stay at the Emirates.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal have tabled an incentive-based new deal to Wilshere, which means that the 26-year-old will receive financial add-ons depending on appearances and success.

The North London outfit, who are believed to have taken this approach due to the player's injury record, are reportedly offering around £90,000 a week, which is significantly less than the £110,000-a-week package the England international is currently on.

Wilshere has struggled with injuries throughout his senior career, but since recovering from a broken leg earlier this season, the midfielder has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions.
