Arsene Wenger: 'Pressure good for Arsenal'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that pushing for a third-place finish on the final day of the Premier League season will benefit his side in the FA Cup final.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that the pressure of needing a result in their final game of the Premier League season will help Arsenal when they play in the FA Cup final next weekend.

The Gunners need at least a point against West Bromwich Albion to make sure that they finish in the top three, avoiding a qualifying round for next season's Champions League.

The manager told the club's website: "Every season we have had to focus until the last minute. So sometimes you would like to play a game where there is no pressure. But finally when you have one, you get bored, so at least we have to keep the concentration and it's better.

"When you switch off it's always difficult to switch on again. You always think 'OK we'll switch on', but it's not like that. When you switch off it is always difficult to switch on again, it's not like when you switch on a light."

Arsenal will be attempting to win the FA Cup for a second year in a row when they take on Aston Villa at Wembley next weekend.
