Danny Welbeck aims to give Arsenal fans "many happy days"

Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck says that he is fully focused on giving his new fans "many happy days" following his deadline-day move to the Gunners.

Danny Welbeck has pledged to do everything he can to give Arsenal fans "many happy days" after joining the club on Monday.

The 23-year-old forward secured a deadline-day move to the Emirates Stadium from Manchester United, signing a five-year deal for a reported £16m fee.

Welbeck, who was with the Red Devils since the age of eight, says that the Gunners' supporters need not worry about his United past, claiming that he is fully focused on bringing success to North London.

He told Sky Sports News: "I just want [Arsenal fans] to know that I will give 100% in every single game. I play with my heart on my sleeve and I am always going to give my best.

"I will try to give them so many happy days in the coming future."

With the international break halting the domestic calendar, Welbeck will have to wait for his Arsenal bow, but could make his debut against Manchester City on September 13.
