Martin Keown: 'Chelsea should have scored more'

Arsenal legend Martin Keown claims that Chelsea should have won by more than one goal after watching them beat Manchester City 1-0 on Monday night.

Martin Keown has claimed that Chelsea should have beaten Manchester City by more than one goal after their 1-0 victory on Monday evening.

The Blues ended City's 100% record at the Etihad Stadium thanks to Branislav Ivanovic's first-half effort, and the former Arsenal centre-back told the Daily Mail that Jose Mourinho's side should have won by a greater margin.

He said: "Jose's game plan has been executed brilliantly. They have so much pace in midfield.

"My only criticism of Chelsea is that they should have scored more. With Martin Demichelis in there, it's like City are playing one in midfield.

"Yaya Toure is brilliant, but he's in no hurry to rush back, so the defence is wide open to numbers advancing. The team who win the title will be the team with the best balance."

The win took Mourinho's men level on points with Manuel Pellegrini's side in the Premier League.
