Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Europa League semi-final first leg against Valencia on Thursday night.

Arsenal need to put their recent Premier League woes behind them as they face what could be a season-defining match against Valencia on Thursday night.

The Gunners have lost three top-flight matches in a row since comfortably beating Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, leaving them needing a big helping hand in the race for a top-four finish.

Unai Emery's best shot at dragging the North London outfit back into the Champions League is by winning UEFA's secondary competition, then, and Arsenal have a good chance to do that as they take on La Liga's sixth-placed side over two legs for a place in the Baku final.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match at the Emirates Stadium.

ARSENAL'S INJURY LIST

Aaron Ramsey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown.

Ramsey may have played his last game for Arsenal after picking up a hamstring injury against Napoli earlier this month, which will definitely rule him out of this first leg and likely for the duration of the campaign.

Nacho Monreal

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf strain
Possible return date: May 2 (vs. Valencia)

Monreal missed the 3-0 loss to Leicester City on Saturday with a calf strain and is now in a race to be passed fit for Thursday's match.

Mesut Ozil

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: May 2 (vs. Valencia)

Ozil also missed the Leicester match and Emery will wait until the eve of the Valencia match before deciding whether the German midfielder is fit enough to return to action.

Denis Suarez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle fatigue
Possible return date: Unknown

Suarez's loan spell from Barcelona has not been a success, and the midfielder confirmed on Monday that he will not play again this season.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bellerin has been sidelined since early this year and will not feature again until next season due to a serious knee injury.

Rob Holding

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Holding also damaged his ligaments earlier this season and he too will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Danny Welbeck

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Welbeck has been out with a serious ankle injury since November and, while Emery remains optimistic that the attacker might feature before the end of the campaign, Thursday's match comes too soon for him.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles's red card against Leicester only ruling him out of his side's next domestic match.
