Per Mertesacker has said that he is confident Arsenal can keep alive their European hopes by beating Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League clash on Tuesday evening.
The Gunners must claim a win over the Croatian champions and hope that Bayern Munich record a victory over Olympiacos if they are to stand any chance of making it through to the last 16.
They have lost three of their four group games, with their sole triumph coming against Bayern, but Mertesacker believes that they have the quality needed to get a positive result at the Emirates.
"We want to remain in the competition for sure," he is quoted as saying by Arsenal's official website. "It has been difficult for us due to our results and our performances but there is still a chance for us and we want to take it seriously.
"We beat one of the best teams in Europe at home so let's put that in our minds, be confident and put in a performance."
Arsenal have been knocked out at the last-16 stage of the tournament for the past five seasons.
