Arsenal Women announce the signing of Swedish forward Stina Blackstenius following her departure from BK Hacken.

Arsenal Women have confirmed the signing of Swedish forward Stina Blackstenius.

The 25-year-old joins the Women's Super League leaders after running down her contract with BK Hacken, where she bagged 38 goals in 54 appearances.

Blackstenius has won two Swedish league titles and three national cups in her homeland, and the 72-cap Sweden international expects to develop even further in North London.

Speaking to arsenal.com, the forward said: "It feels amazing to be here, I'm so happy to join such a big and great club like Arsenal. I got a really good first impression about this club, they play really good football and I wanted to be a part of that. I feel like I can become a better player in this environment."

Head coach Jonas Eidevall added: "We're delighted to have signed Stina. She is a world-class talent who will add even more quality to our team. Her game is well-suited to the style we are implementing here at Arsenal, and I'm confident that she will take her game to an even higher level here with us."

Blackstenius boasts 22 goals on the international stage and helped Sweden take third place at the 2019 World Cup, as well as winning Olympic silver in 2016 and 2020.
