Nice 0-1 AC Ajaccio

AC Ajaccio got off to a winning start in Ligue 1 with a narrow win over 10-man Nice at Municipal du Ray.

The visitors struck the game's only goal on 11 minutes when Eduardo Ribeiro placed a right-footed shot beyond Joris Delle into the bottom left corner from 10 yards.

Mehdi Mostefa was shown a straight red card in the first minute of the second half but, despite their numerical disadvantage, Nice remained a real threat going forward.

They should have levelled 20 minutes from time, however Luciano Monzon failed to convert a penalty kick and Ajaccio hung on for the victory.
