Ajaccio grab late point at home to Bordeaux

Ajaccio score late to grab a home draw against travelling Bordeaux in Ligue 1

Mehdi Mostefa's late goal has snatched Ajaccio a 1-1 home draw against travelling Bordeaux in Ligue 1 this evening.

Bordeaux were the first side to threaten as Henri Saivet crossed for Guillaume Hoarau, but he could only fire straight at the goalkeeper with his left from the centre of the box.

Claude Dielna sought to respond for Ajaccio as he let fly from long range, but his effort was saved in the top corner by Cedric Carrasso.

Hoarau thought that he had put the visitors into the lead but Carrasso pulled off another standout save, while Ajaccio's Junior Tallo also had a shot saved from an acute angle just before half time.

The visitors took the lead in the 62nd minute when Gregory Sertic turned in a set piece, allowing Jussie to scramble the ball home with his left foot from a few yards out.

It looked as though Bordeaux would claim all three points, but Mostefa had other ideas as he turned home Ricardo Faty's headed pass in the 85th minute to earn the hosts a point.
