Late Kramer strike cuts down Excelsior

Michiel Kramer bagged a 93rd-minute winner as ADO Den Haag beat SBV Excelsior 3-2 to move five points clear of danger in the Eredivisie this afternoon.

It took the best part of half an hour for the clash to throw up a goalscoring opportunity as Den Haag hitman Oleksandr Pavlovych Yakovenko fired narrowly wide of the post.

It proved a sign of things to come, however, as Kramer headed home a free kick on 34 minutes to give Den Haag a half-time lead for the first time in an away game for 16 months.

Marinus Dijkhuizen's side began brightly in the second half and swiftly turned the game on its head courtesy of a four-minute salvo.

First, Adil Auassar latched on to Jeff Stan's neat ball to equalise on 59 minutes, before Ninos Gouriye picked up a pass from Tom van Weert to add a second minutes later.

It was not enough for Excelsior to record a first win in four games, though, as Roland Alberg struck on 79 minutes to equalise, before Kramer grabbed his brace in timely fashion to deny the hosts.
