Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes: 'We can get a result in Holland'

McGinnis: 'We can get a result in Holland'

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has declared that his side is capable of overcoming Europa League opponents Groningen after being held to a goalless draw by the Dutch side on home soil.

The Dons boss believes that his team has every chance of securing victory in the second leg in Holland, citing their impressive away form last season as evidence.

"We're more than capable of going over there and winning. All in all, in the second half we didn't work their goalkeeper enough," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"They're confident but we were very good away from home last season.

"It was very tight and I thought we created the better chances; I don't think [Dons goalkeeper] Jamie Langfield had one save to make from distance. Losing the game would've been a disaster."

The return fixture will take place next Thursday at the Euroborg ground.
