Pakistan declare on 557-8 against Bangladesh

Azhar Ali adds 226 runs to Pakistan's total prior to tea against Bangladesh, leaving the hosts chasing down 557-8 in Dhaka.

Azhar Ali completed a maiden double-hundred to help Pakistan to 557-8 on day two of the second Test against Bangladesh.

The tourists, who had surpassed the 400 mark in the morning session, piled on further runs at the Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka before declaring.

Having headed into the second session of the day sitting on a healthy 428-4, Pakistan eventually lost Ali (226) to Mahmudullah Riyad, before Asad Shafiq (107), who scored a Test century of his own, was sent packing soon after.

Wahab Riaz (4) and Yasir Shah (0) struggled to match the earlier feats achieved by Ali and Shafiq, although Sarfraz Ahmed had moved to a run-a-ball 21 when the umpires called tea.
