Kevin Pietersen extends Surrey stay

England international Kevin Pietersen has extended his contract with Surrey County Cricket Club for the remainder of his international career.

The former England captain originally moved to the Oval on loan from Hampshire in 2010 before signing a one-year deal with the club earlier this year.

"[Surrey's] recent success is well deserved, I look forward to working with them in 2012," said Pietersen, who has a first-class average of 49.93.

"Surrey is a fantastic club, I have been really impressed with the environment and work ethic in place."

The South African-born batsman made four appearances for the club last season.
